The transaction boosts LG’s expansion into the European heating, ventilation, and hot water market, ensuring the quality and efficiency of the Norwegian company’s products.
LG Electronics has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of OSO, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of domestic hot water solutions. With this strategic transaction, LG strengthens its position in the HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) sector, one of its main growth areas, and accelerates its roadmap to becoming a global leader in this industry.
While water heaters for heat pumps were previously made of enamel, stainless steel has become the current standard due to its superior hygiene and corrosion resistance. In this field, OSO has achieved a leading position thanks to its highly energy-efficient products with low heat loss. The company, which has production facilities in Norway and Sweden, guarantees flexible distribution throughout Europe.
This acquisition is part of LG’s “3B” strategy for its HVAC division: Build (developing its own capabilities), Borrow (collaborating with external experts), and Buy (growing through strategic acquisitions). The agreement with OSO is a clear example of this philosophy and reinforces LG’s commitment to sustainability, electrification, and B2B business growth in Europe and globally.
“The partnership with OSO is key to strengthening our expansion in the HVAC market. Together, we will offer integrated and efficient solutions that will help lead the energy transition,” said James Lee, president of LG’s ES division.
